- Learning and personal growth: Gain knowledge through programs, workshops, speakers, and educational materials. Many of these benefits can’t be found anywhere else. The materials from these activities are available to all members via the SCGS website at no extra charge.

- Service and impact: Personal growth comes from volunteer efforts, preservation work, outreach, and meeting long-term organizational goals.
- Monthly meetings: You will enjoy the opportunity to meet and become part of a devoted community whose mission is to preserve the past through study and discovery of our origins. Each meeting features a genealogy research presentation by an industry expert, and you can attend in person or via Zoom. If you cannot attend, the presentations and meeting archives are available after the meetings via the SCGS website at no extra charge to members.
- Specialized Education and Support: The ability to experience and join our ever-growing Special Interest Groups (SIGs) who meet multiple times each year to discuss varied areas of interest. Currently these SIG’s include the use of specialized genealogical software and resources, using DNA results to identify and research past and present family members, local Delmarva investigations, and even an open forum to ask general questions and gain knowledge on a wide variety of topics. All meeting presentations and summaries are available to members via the SCGS website at no extra charge.
